On The Cover: Howl-O-Ween Is Pupkin Pawty Time!
 OBy Caroline Turney
ctober is the perfect month to be
outside with your pet. So, you can
easily plan a fall costume party where the people can be socially distanced, but your pupkin and pals can enjoy some play time at your local dog park or in your own backyard.
If you find your pet’s costume early in October, you can snap an adorable pic and create a simple party invitation at your favorite photo lab. You can also use a photo
to create an evite or simple group text with the date, time, and place of your pawty.
And what’s a costume party without a contest? To benefit your favorite rescue organization, create a 50/50 jar where each guest places a donation. Let each person vote for their favorite (excluding their own pet). The winner gets half of the jar, and the non-profit gets the other half.
If your dog park allows it, fill a baby pool or two and add water-proof balls to watch
the fun as the fur babies go bobbing for dog toys. As pawty favors, you can find Halloween-themed treats at your local pet retailer. We found everything from “nutty mummies” to pumpkin spice chews.
Other activities can include tricks for treats and good old fashioned play time. Remember to keep your camera ready so that you can share the joy with friends and family.
